Evident And Invisible At Once

The more often we see the things around us – even the beautiful and wonderful things – the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds – even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less.

Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Paris At My Feet

galeries_lafayette

It’s Paris. You don’t come here for the weather.
~Adrian Leeds

True that! Visiting Paris is always a delight.
I took this photo on the rooftop of the Galeries Lafayette on a rainy day. Most people come here for that typical snapshot of the opera, but I found those heavy clouds in the distance more intriguing, making the Eiffel Tower appear like a small antenna trying to protect the city at my feet from thunderbolts…

New Life

New Life

The littlest feet make the biggest footprints in our hearts.

Our baby girl Ella was born on August 13. As proud parents, we can hardly wait to show her the world.
Two more feet to travel with us; two more eyes to open up new vistas; two more hands to link us together; one little sunshine to lighten our hearts on the way.

Positive Attitude

Wat Pho Bangkok Buddha

Today marks the beginning of Buddha Lent (Vassa), the rainy season in Southeast Asia lasting 3 months. During this time, Buddhist monks mustn’t travel but stay within one single monastery, focusing on meditation and teaching Buddha’s key concepts to devotees.

I only picked up a few of Buddha’s ideas and sayings during our short trip to Thailand, but I especially remember one that reflects upon life in general: concentrate on the here and now; don’t dwell in the past, don’t dream of the future.

Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.
~ Buddha

So whatever you decide to do today, do it with a positive attitude and positive things will happen to you.

There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path.
