Today marks the beginning of Buddha Lent (Vassa), the rainy season in Southeast Asia lasting 3 months. During this time, Buddhist monks mustn’t travel but stay within one single monastery, focusing on meditation and teaching Buddha’s key concepts to devotees.
I only picked up a few of Buddha’s ideas and sayings during our short trip to Thailand, but I especially remember one that reflects upon life in general: concentrate on the here and now; don’t dwell in the past, don’t dream of the future.
Every morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.
~ Buddha

There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path.
