Glacier Hiking In Franz Josef

Already before arriving in New Zealand I was absolutely certain that I wanted to strap on some crampons to hike the glacier world at the West Coast. What an opportunity to walk on ice that froze decades ago and what a chance to get some photos of a glacier that not everyone has!

I have been choosing a half day tour on Franz Josef to give it a try and to see how demanding the track is. Tough? Nah, what a promenade! Next time, without hesitating, I would go for the full day walk to spend even more time on the ice.

Make sure you give it a Go once you are in New Zealand!
